How often is hair washed: I shampoo it with herbal essence hello hydration shampoo once a week.

Favorite way to wear the hair: I love big hair…Depending on how big I want my hair to be, I regulate the amount of conditioner and agitation when drying.

Duration of wear: This is my 2nd install and I wore it for about 10 weeks, the 1st time around.

Must have ONYC Hair Essential: Diffuser

Why you love this hair: I like high fashion and this hair gives me all of that. It’s like I have couture on my head…Also, I can work-out and not worry about “sweating” it out, it loves moisture and my favorite room at the gym is the steam room.

Hair Care Tip to others for Caring for this ONYC® Hair: To style it I just wet it and spray hair conditioner in it (organic Moroccan argan oil conditioner) and comb through it with a goody “finish” brush while its saturated with water & conditioner, this detangles it and lessens breakage/shedding and I usually dry it with a conair one dryer with a diffuser attached on medium heat and low speed.

Have You Heard of ….”The Coiffure Project?”

Have you heard of the Glenford Nunez Coiffure Project?….

Well don’t feel badly, we just heard of it ourselves.

Glenford Nunez is a young photographer who was surprised to learn that more and more Black women, and the number is still climbing, are embracing their natural tresses regardless of the method they use to get there. So with his genuinely creative mind, he embarked upon a project to capture the essence and the beauty of locks of women from the African Diaspora.

To do this the 25 year old – based in Baltimore, MD – set up shop at his TYP Photography Studios and got “cracking”! He initially started off by shooting photographs of his natural haired assistant and moved on to taking pics of  10 more candidates. Each photo is quite imaginative and although they mostly reside on his website, Nunez plans to acquire more subjects and eventually create a Coffee Table Book.

The transition to natural hair can be a cause of stress for some but it is honestly does not have to be. Incorporating natural textured, quality hair extensions can sincerely help with the conversion. ‘Mad Men’ Cast Member Teyonah Parris Slays in Kinky Curly

To our surprise, we have another amazing star rocking ONYC Hair. She can be seen in ‘Mad Men’ on AMC and is now filming her next movie wearing ONYC! An interview with the Los Angeles Times revealed the reason for her role in ‘Mad Men’.

“The fifth season of “Mad Men” brought the dawn of a new day. And one result was the introduction of the latest female in Don Draper’s life: Dawn Chambers, his new secretary and Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce’s first African American employee. When viewers rejoined the 1960s-set drama after a 17-month hiatus, they were briefed on the racial tensions that spawned riots and protests during the period the series is set in. After jokingly advertising itself as an equal opportunity employer in an attempt to poke fun at one of their competitor’s woes, SCDP ended up hiring its first African American employee, played by Teyonah Parris.”
