ONYC® International Making Strides….

On October 20th, 2012 the ONYC® International Team ventured out to the Washington, DC Monument to lend our voice as well, as out feet, to the fight against breast cancer. We signed up and joined the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 5K walk.

As you know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness month where international breast cancer charities seek to increase public acknowledgement and appreciation of the disease and raise funds for research toward a cure, prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and even the cause.

As a result many organizations – such as the American Cancer Society – design various annual activities to stir action toward this goal as well as memorialize those taken victim by the aliment, and celebrate individuals whom have overcome it.

To this end, ONYC® CEO; Thelma Okoro galvanized the ONYC® staff, and awesome guests who signed up and came out to walk for the cause, and in joyful camaraderie! Among those special guests was Miss Black Virginia, USA; Natasha Stovall.  Clad in her stash and crown, she happily walked side by side with the group as she drew the attention of the diverse walk attendees.

By the end of the walk, the entire ONYC® contingent was sincerely exhilarated as we emotionally embraced one another. It was evident that everyone is looking forward to when we can do this once again, and with an even larger ONYC® assembly. Hopefully that will be you too!

Below are some photos taken at the event. Featured in the photo above is ONYC® CEO; Thelma Okoro with Miss Black Virginia, USA; Natasha Stovall.
